I usually skip trying to figure out what RPM it is with 1960D unless it's unique looking.

It seem to match CC's # 019. (Sorta?)
Looks like this one has maybe lower serif split and a bar upper inside of MM ?
Also I can't get a clean clear picture which looks like maybe more MM upper west of MM ?

CC's EDS (Obv.) markers match (except) this coin has a skirted R-LIBERTY.
(Rev. ) match (except) no die chips on column 12.
CC's LDS (Obv.) match (except) die break on head.
(Rev. ) match (except) die chips on right cornice edge.

Question is. What does it mean if some markers match EDS & LDS but this coin has a few less plus a skirted R-LIBERTY?
Maybe I'm way off but needed to find out.
Thank you for opinions.

That is it. I would suggest using VV's cross over, RPM-019. There are eight stages and two different reverses, I'm sure you will get close with one of these.

@ROB, For one reason or others the CC and Wexler site could not rich at this time. And MAKE spot nice your coin, probably stage D.

What I see: An Mechanical Doubling and how me I say: DDMM (double die mint mark). I know the peoples are reticent on this denomination because they wrote books or articles and if accept the name they have to work.

Nice to find this and spot also. Congrats. I do not like to much the Cents Coins but I collect 1956, 1960 and 1974 (bizarre)

I come back with Wexler:

Quote:
1960-D 1¢ WRPM-004

Description: D/D North

Cross References: CONECA: RPM #19, Coppercoins: 1960D-1MM-019

Top 100 RPM: Wexler

The variety having a second reverse, should clue you in to why you have this dilemma.

@makecents. Thank you for VV link.

I'm leaning towards Stage F.
I really have to zoom in to catch Die chip on cornice and crack on forehead. No way be able to get a picture with my setup. The MM position lines up and die chip in R.
So with only those things matching.
Does it mean mine is Stage F or is there more to it?

Thank you also Silvio for your information.
Some reason this morning I can't pull up Wexlers site.

The stages are not an exact science. You have to keep in mind, that these are based on examples they have been able to attribute, so there could always be some time in between stages but generally, will get you close, if not spot on.
