I disagreed with the TPG grade on this one. Thoughts? Thanks! acetone soak and a dab of CoinCare walla a white blinder MS64+ just kidding its a beauty... MS62 from TPG - imo looks MS 63 without FB designation. I don't see rare birds like this except every 7 years so thanks for showing.

I could see an argument for MS62-64. I sit right in the middle at MS63, misses FB due to the lower bands not having full separation. I could see MS64 if it weren't for a bit of muted/disturbed luster on some of the high points.

Is that linear feature on the back of winged liberty's head on the coin, or on the holder?

The straight white line under the wing is on the holder.

MS63 would be my TPG guess, maybe even 64. It misses FB. There does appear to be high points rubs but I doubt they would grade such a coin AU.

AU55 - AU58 FB. Luster is always the wild card when trying to grade by photos. PCGS requires only the central band be fully separated for a FB designation.

#11 on the top 100 U.S. coins? What a beauty...don't see these very often at this grade... MS-63...not sure about FB because of the bottom band...but a killer pick up non the less! Like it a lot! smat

AU58 or MS62FB PCGS only requires center band something strange is going on behind the wing  . I'm wondering if the coin was cleaned and re-toned

I'll say they gave it an MS63, but I could see it at 64.

MS62, close to FSB but the bottom band just misses (for NGC), might make PCGS

Lovely key date, we don't see many examples in this state. I'm in at MS62-MS64 range so I'll settle at MS63. Thanks for sharing it with us.
