Chatter on Lincoln's bust holds it back to MS-65 RD. Now let's see what the experts say!

I'm in with MS64--a strong 64.

Reverse scratches below the Memorial bother me - I'll say MS-64RD.

quite a few ticks on the cheek bone, jaw, lapel near the bowtie. they are minor and most likely enhanced by your lighting. the weakness on the lower steps if very typical and can be seen even on MS66 coins. thats not from wear and the rest of the steps are pretty well defined. reverse has couple minor ticks.

all these exclude the coin from a 66 grade. the coin is way better than a 63 so that narrows it down to 64 or 65 as the possible grade.

i looked at multiple graded MS65 coins and think its short of that so I'm at MS64RD

Interesting how you all see 6-7 points worth of deductions on a lustrous coin free of any major hits or distractions.

thats the problem here. its not free of distractions. the photos show ticks and marks on the jaw and up and down the entire length of the lapel and a few on the shoulder. above CENT. there looks like some field discoloration in front of the profile and vertically through LIBERTY and on the reverse vertically through the A in America. this could be from lighting but we can only judge on what we see. add to this the weak obv strike

its not a clean enough coin to go much higher. the only two options here realistically using your photos is MS64 maybe a +
