Hello All!

This is my first time posting so I hope I do this correctly.
I got this $100 bill that was stampedwith Buy more silver today and thought nothing of it at first until I realized that it looks like it was stamped before the actual bill was printed.

Can you all take a look and let me know what you think?

Thanks!

Someone applied a rubber stamp after printing. Just spend it.

@PaulRosen.... It does appear the letters of DAY are under the 100. Just a guess here.... the glittery 100 is a different texture & the ink didn't adhere to that area or was easily removed, giving the appearance that the letters of DAY are beneath. Just my opinion.

The ink of the rubber stamp wouldn't stick to the metallic ink of the 100. So it just looks like the stamp came first, but it didn't.

Welcome to CCF.
This particular forum gets more questions about stamps and graffiti on notes than any other forum I participate on.

As others have mentioned, the ink "appears" to be under the overprint. It's an optical illusion. The ink used in the stamp adheres to the note's field but not to the overprinted ink.

You have enough there to buy at least 3 or maybe almost 4 silver Maple Leafs if you shop around. Why be satisfied with $100 U.S. when you could have $15 or $20 Canadian?
