Different from the usual Chinese stuff, but it does have that "casted" look to it and the lack of detail you typically see with cast fakes. Could it be a contemporary counterfeit? In case the link gets removed, I have posted the pictures here, for posterity. Oh, and welcome back Zonad!!

It looks to me as a fake as well, a casted look with very pronounced rims. Are the Obv I's like that on a real coin? Also the date and the "cents" are not exactly parallel ... looks funny. Yes, I'd say fake and someone is going to hate themselves for bidding.

A common 1948 counterfeit dollar without the EH initials.

. Yep, the 8 looks like it was done by a kindergartener. Comments, as above, with the missing EH. The vendor's moniker, where the coin is located, and topped off by the "We have more than one" are all indicators that it has 11' pole marks all over it.

The seller states Quote: "The items are all 1:1 copies for collection, please don't buy if you mind" That should be your first clue. Anyone else try to report this item? Good luck with that.

Quote: no report button....... On a computer, there will be a ? in a circle at the bottom right. Clicking on it opens a pop-up with report submission link. But it won't do any good.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

The report item button is gone from where it used to be. You can still report an item but the process is a little more convoluted now. At the bottom of the page click on Policies, select Prohibited and Restricted Items, from there select Replica Coins and Currency, and there you can select Report Item. You then report the item and wait for the email telling you that AI has determined the listing is not in violation of ebay policies, even though the seller clearly states that the coin is a copy.

For me the question mark icon is often slow to load. I'm impatient.

Thanks again for reporting the listing(s) you found. What happened: We looked into your report and didn't find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence. If you reported content that isn't listed below, we'll send a separate email once we've made a decision. "This is what ebay said, I reported as counterfeit bullion."
