Have this token from Hanover Pennsylvania historical society, which shows the Conewago Chapel - Built 1741 - Hanover (Edgegrove) PA 1983 all on the outer rim of this token, also on the inner workings are, a chapel with a little historical information regarding the chapel. It states "Rebuilt in 1787 as the sacred heart of Jesus Christ. Elevated to a minor Basilica in 1962, the oldest stone Catholic Church in America. The other side has on the outer rim, Hanover Numismatic Society-.org. 1963 HANOVER, PENNSYLVANIA. The middle shows a statue of what appears to be a civil war soldier riding his battle horse held high on a pedestal with 2 cannons on each side of the footings. The words on the statue read "Erected by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 1904" with the caption "THE PICKET"

I am thinking this coin or token is made up of brass as it weights 25g and a circumference of 38.1mm (1.5)in. So my question is, does anyone have any further information regarding this? As far as what was is made for, who was it made for? The actual intended purpose, does it have any value or a market? Would it be better to find a library in Hanover,PA to donate? I have 3 of them both in very similar conditioning. Any help at all would be awesome, especially if I could find a possible long term home for them to someone who will appreciate them more than I will as I would appreciate the space it's taking up just a little more. Thank you very much for making it this far. You are awesome

@look, that is an interesting piece you have there. I see several other issues of the Hanover Numismatic Society and note that they still seem to be holding monthly meetings (see link below). Also, I note that one of the US's most famous coin engravers ( Christian Gobrecht) was born in Hanover, PA.

However, I don't see your token listed at tokencatalog.com. Considering reaching out to them to submit yours.

Thank you very much. Yes definitely an interesting piece, I didn't see any numbers for that Society, wonder if Google would hold their telephone number. Also going to check into registering this token especially since I have 3 of them lol
