sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21786 Posts	Posted 11/25/2022 4:59 pm I note that War Nickels are surprisingly cheap in higher grades. Perhaps the reason for this is that many were taken out of circulation in the war years and kept aside, because they looked so bright. Expect to pay more for fully struck up 6 steppers. When War Nickels have sustained a lot of wear, they take on the color much closer to any other nickel. That is one of the reasons why they can still be found in pocket change.
