Thanks folks! Been getting some stuff ready for PCGS and what a pain that every different thing seems to need to be on a different form and each form adds tons of costs. But it'll get submitted!

I love ANACS and coin show specials as well. Just got a sub back yesterday in fact and only 9 weeks compared to the last one I got back from PCGS that took 21 weeks. Working on getting the entire DDO-001 set slabbed up and ANACS has been just great. But yeah, PCGS is where the registry collectors are and the bigger money, so while it is more expensive up front to get things slabbed, you get more as well when you sell them. But wow, the fees. A variety coin worth over $300 costs $38 grading plus $18 variety fee so $56 just to slab it. Plus the $10 fee per form, and minimum return shipping if less than five coins and under $1K value is $22. Then there is the Collectors Club fee of $69 annually, and $5 per coin for images, plus you have to pay the postage to mail it to them. Just an expensive undertaking. And that doesn't include all the time it takes as they require an exacting way to submit coins in 2.5x2.5 inch slips that no one uses for anything else because they are super awkward and all the precise labeling and listing on the forms. In total I will have something like 4 hours and $1600 invested in this submission. So yeah, they better be pretty expensive coins to start with and you have to submit half of them as things you are just selling off to get your money back if you want to actually keep some of the coins. I will surf ebay for varieties outside of my main collection just for that purpose, to submit things just to sell for cost recovery.

Really nice to see the breakdown for PCGS as I've never done them before.

I did talk to a dealer at FUN a couple of years ago that sold slabbed Lincolns from PCGS. He would only submit for a grade and submit a whole MS roll of the same date. He said the cost (2019?) was only $5 per coin. I found that enlightening but that made sense since he was selling them from $15-$20.
