I got a 1854 large cent with a large crack running thru date on obverse wondering if it's a die crack or lamination issue or....? Any help is appreciated

thats a lamination.

a die crack is failure in the die, so many coins will have the same crack.

a laminations is a failure in the planchet. they will each be unique. usually they are caused by poor alloys. neat coin. probably not worth more than it would have been without the lamination.

Please properly rotate photos before posting...thanks. Could that be a substance on the coin like glue?

Thanks for feed back I figured it was a lamination issue. Really didn't know if that added a premium to coin?

Nice lamination! Might add 10 bucks to the value to the right collector. '54 was a common date for rotated dies as well, any chance yours had that issue also?

NO unfortunately it doesn't have a die rotation. Thanks again for all the feedback
