1854 Large Cent Error? - Coin Community Forum

CarrsCoins Pillar of the Community United States 756 Posts	Posted 11/27/2022 11:14 am thats a lamination. a die crack is failure in the die, so many coins will have the same crack. a laminations is a failure in the planchet. they will each be unique. usually they are caused by poor alloys. neat coin. probably not worth more than it would have been without the lamination.
