I'm in Iraq so my hobby has been put on hold. It looks like the 2009's are out? I have lots of questions.
What does it look like?
What mint marks are available?
I'm assuming they have proofs?
Can rolls be obtained at any bank?
Are there any "special" 2009 variations, commemoratives or proofs that are considered desireable?
Now I also need a favor if any prominent members are willing to ablige. I would like to buy at least one of everything that's out (mint marks, proofs, etc.) and possibly a roll of each mint mark. My wife won't know what to do and I don't get home until around Nov-Dec.
Would any of you be willing to shop for me? If need be I can pay in advance, so preferably a long-time, reputable member who good with Lincolns.

What does it look like?     The obverse stays the same. What mint marks are available? So far just P & D as far as I know. I'm assuming they have proofs? Not yet. Can rolls be obtained at any bank? It seems that they will be available in several weeks. Are there any "special" 2009 variations, commemorative or proofs that are considered desirable? There has been some discussion of making a special collectors set of all the 09 cents. These will contain the same metal content as the 1909 cents. I read somewhere that the mintage would be limited to 50,000 units. Paratrooper I will do what I can to see to it that you get what you are looking for. As a Desert Shield/Storm Vet myself, I thank you for what you are doing over there. Anything I can get for you will be shipped at no charge. all I need from you is an address to send it to. If you are in Fayetteville (when you return) I can deliver it personally.

i dont have any 2009 cents to send...
but,
i assume you like any coins when free, right? :D

Well I see someone already offered to help you if I can do anything just email me would be happy to help also.
USArmyParatrooper The only thing out now is the Lincoln Proof I ordered two will be back in PA April 5th send me your address and I will send you one for free, do you get free mail as we did in Vietnam
Or I may be able to order one and have it shipped directly to you over there.

Referring to the 2009 Commemorative Lincoln Proof Silver Dollar
USArmyParatrooper just tell me where to send you one and it's in the mail.
The pennies will not be available for a couple weeks or maybe months. The special four cent issue with the Lincoln silver dollar will be out sometime in the spring limited to 50,000 so not sure if I will get any but will buy an extra for you if I can get any when they are available.
As for other items President Dollars, New quarters ect I always get extra so when you get back to the world just email me for anything you are looking for can't afford to give everything for free but you can have anything you need when you get back at my cost.
The 2009 uncirculated set will also have the 1909 copper pennies I will also get extra ones when they come out.

Have to post this to you, being a disabled Vietnam Vet I can't even imagine what you all are going through. In my worst nightmares, I could not even imagine what it would have been like to have to go back to Vietnam for three and four tours like you all (god bless you all)
We all can never repay what you are doing for your country! I sure hope you all get sent back to the world ASAP.
