Just wanted to check if this was a lamination issue versus some PMD.

Is it raised or contuse.
If it is raised, it looks like it may be something like glue on it.

It's below the surface of the rest of the coin.

Here's an additional photo. Not the best pic, but you may be able to appreciate the edges turned up around the area. It appears that as soon as I compressed the photo the resolution went down. I will be getting a scope in the future to improve my zoom capabilities.

Is this true color of the coin? is the area inside this anomaly red or copper looking? Maybe the cladding came off here.

The color isn't altered and I think you are totally correct. It does look a bit reddish like copper. I hadn't even been thinking of the clad layer, but it definitely could be a possibility. I guess the area is to small to show enough of a change in weight beyond the normal range.

I don't think they are clad. Looks like it might be a lam.

Ok. Thank you both for your assistance. Once I can get a better photo with the scope I'll resubmit to help you to see more clearly to be able to give a more definitive assessment. I know the photos I submitted aren't that clear and I appreciate the opinions I've gotten based on the limited viability. Thank you

It is incuse. So it is a peel of the clad on that area. Worth a lot more in BU condition.
