A gift from my Boss at work - they all know how much I love collecting coins, so they all chipped in to get me this one:
It has some extreme edge/rim damage though.

I appears to be a rotated die error too (I calculate at about 105 degrees:

It is also slightly larger than an Eisenhower dollar:

After further examination, it turns out to be a gold clad-chocolate core coin. It was also a 'struck through' what looks like a screen or something.

Since it's a 1972 you should check it for the DDO variety.

This is a very rare variant overstruck with the Bavarian coat of arms for circulation in East Germany.
