Hýmm, as far as I know, there are a couple of countries that will be accepted in the EU by 2007, they will most probably start using Euros - if they don't take UK as an example . I'm hoarding Bulgarian coins these days. In case they become rare after BG joins the EU.

Joining the European Union and joining the Euro currency are two separate things. Many of the former Eastern Bloc countries lining up to join the EU probably still don't meet the economic criteria for joining the Eurozone. Of course, they don't have to join the Euro if they don't want to... Britain, Denmark and Sweden are all founding members of the EU but rejected joining the Euro. This link is a map of the Eurozone and lists current EU members not in the Euro.

KLD your best bet is to use the Euro forums to find a collector who wants to trade with other collectors! (basically a DARKSIDER) This will get you the $2 commemoratives much cheaper than what a dealer will ask. I have used a dealer when I need quanity but count on my European friends to take care of me most of the time. They are eager to build U.S. and Canadian collections so I have, or can obtain what they want, and they have what I want! Works well all around.
