I got a good deal on this 1882 H Newfoundland 2 Dollar Gold piece since it obviously is worth bullion only. Paid under BV for it so I'm HAPPY!!

Yeah it is ruined... but at the same time gives it character... :) At least that is what I keep telling myself!

I think they made it into a tie tack, cuff link, or pendant... Other than the post removal the coin is in great shape!

If they hadn't altered the coin it might not be in as nice shape. They probably kept it in a jewelery box, maybe had its own velvet pocket. Its a really nice coin.

Why does it say 200c/100p? Was the Canadian Cent 2:1 with the British penny?

Ah... so it was....

Does the $1 say the dual currency, too?

There wasn't a 1 Dollar NFLD.... 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50 (Cents), and 2 dollars
