Afternoon all,

Quick question. Looking through the Spink at the listings of George IV farthings, and it seems there's an 1822 with inverted A's in the legend. I've looked online and can't seem to find any reference to this, so any ideas please? I've got Peck arriving this week as the Freeman doesn't go back that early, so may be in there.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Ta.

Just realized that I posted what you already have, I'll search some more, I've seen pic's of it somewhere.

It isn't in Perkins 2018.
Maybe I'm confusing it with inverted V used as A?

Thanks Ttkoo,

I've had a look in Peck but there doesn't seem to be any mention of it, unless I'm missing it. However, I have found a very brief mention of it on another site, but no images of it.

Spink list is as 1822 - inv. A's legend, so I'm at a loss.

Thanks for looking

Therein lies the rub, IGE, can't find one. I can't see where an inverted A would be used in the legend either. I've found an inverted A used as a V in a Victoria halfpenny, but not a George IIII.

So I'm not really sure what this is.
