As someone who has not huge familiarity with the US grading system, I'd say EF-40 details?

But I may be way off.

I'll say PCGS graded it VF-30 straight (Sheldon). Note that I'd grade it that way!

I'm with VF.
Canadian grading would probably have it as Fine.

F-12 details (environmental), but it's a fake because there were no 1880's minted.

This is a newfoundland 50 cent piece, which were issued in 1880. There were no Canadian 1880 50 cent pieces.

It's graded VF-20. Not sure whether I'm hallucinating or not, but I don't see anything like that. It's, admittedly, a slightly tricky one because the eye appeal is to terrible...I'd be curious to see what an acetone bath would do in this case. Otherwise, my take is that the reverse is F15 and the obverse is VG8 or maybe a 10. The braid is almost completely shot as is most of the detail in the hair. The eye is in reasonably good shape as are the rims and surfaces but there is wear throughout. Overall, I see an F12 at best.

Sorry guys, I just looked at the dated reverse after seeing Vicky's very worn hair. My size 9 1/2 foot in the mouth didn't taste good.
