I just won this auction. It's a beat-up Whitman album. I'm excited to see the condition of the coins, especially the better dates. In any event the price was right - 61 USD!!

I would have been more than happy to pay $US61.
The '42 Melbourne (no mm) reverse suggests that it may be a better than average coin.

I also understand why this set was so cheap, because it was sold in the US market - it would have cost multiples more, had it been sold in Australia.
I have sold rare US coins in Australia at very low prices, such as a 1923S Quarter VF30 for $50, but that was about 30 years ago.

That's a great pick up Otto. I'd be interested to see what the toning is like on the obverse.
I acquired a spare set (almost) of aussie pennies in Whitman folders, and some were beautifully burnished on the flip side.

The toning for most coins isn't especially nice. A lot of it is patchy or speckled. The one nice thing is that the 1942(m) is pretty nice. That's a very hard coin to find on ebay. Here's three of the coins. Not the best photography.
