In general I agree with your assessment @279, but would also point out that the light strike on STATES is also likely partially due to this being directly opposite the deepest part of the obv die (Abe's shoulder and chest). The result of the metal flowing into that part of the die means that not quite enough is available to fully strike up STATES.
