on my 1979 S Susan B Anthony dollar on the obverse this is considered a blob s right and on the reverse is it a DDR

Looks like a worn die. Also check at which type you have type 2 is the rare one.

Also the mintmarks look like that year. On the proof coins, later they used a new 'S' mintmark punch on them. (Types one and two on the Proof coins that year)

A new punch was added on 1981 Proof coins also.

I would agree with worn die and possibly some MD.

The blob S is a 1979 type 1 mint mark which is different from the 1981 type 1. This blob S is similar to mintmarks around 1978-1979 which often looked like blobs on both S and D.

The type two are only on the Proof coins that year. So the normal mintmark you are seeing are on the business strike coins from that mint that year. Only proofs need to be checked. (Note the description on the my images?)

Just need to check the proof coins on that year. Business strikes will be the normal mintmarks.
