I started coin collecting officially about a year ago. I've unofficially been collecting since I was really young. I inherited some older coins from my grandparents. That set off my interest. I love the history and age behind coins. They are tangible context that bring to life historical periods that I might have otherwise not be aware of without them. I started my collection with Mercury dimes and I've been exploring Buffalo nickels and wheat pennies.
Bakerm87: to the CCF ! Now would be a opportune time to get yourself RedBook - perhaps a older copy, if the expense cannot be justified for a new one. You can always get current values off the 'Net.
