Identifying This Greek Bronze

Yet another unattributed snag out of a shop's bin of unsorted material. I believe it to be an issue of Amphipolis but I can't further pin it down. I take it to be a trident that's on the reverse. I'm not quite sure who's being depicted on the obverse. Pretty small at just 14.5 mm in diameter, with the weight coming in at just a tiny bit over 4 grams.

I'd agree with your observations: Amphipolis, and trident. There is one similar coin on Wildwinds (scroll down to Moushmov 5988): http://www.wildwinds.com/coins/gree...polis/t.html

Gives the ID of the obverse as Apollo.

Yes, Amphipolis. River god Strymon on the obverse. Something similar to:

I'd remark that my specimen is certainly far better preserved than the second of those referenced to above by Bob L. In fact, I'm surprised one in such poor condition would be put up for auction, unless the rarity of the type is greater than I was supposing.

Would mine be a candidate for professional conservation?
