Good luck on the upgrades! Favorite series of mine to collect. A lot to it. It's "easy" and reasonably priced to assemble (compared to other series) a low grade set. Quite the opposite when it comes to better grade and solid struck examples!
Nice 1913 upgrade. T1 is my favorite as well. As close to the original design as Fraser intended.

Thanks Ty - I was looking at the prices of AU/BU buffalos and they ain't cheap, so I think this upgrade may take some time to accomplish. Seeing how I already started with the '13, I may just progress by date (but not too sure about that. If I suddenly see a good deal on one, I'll take it.

That's what I did, not much rhyme or reason to the order I went in. Had a good number raw that I had slabbed, and then filled the holes as I spot a solid strike, EDS-MDS example. That said, Ive had the same number of holes for the past year or so. Tough to find, and not cheap! Look forward to seeing your progress.

Strike on some of the dates will be an issue. An extremely hard series to grade. My favorite series to collect. Looks like you are off to a good start. Best of luck.

Thought about keeping the original set intact and starting another?
That is what I ended up doing.
Buffs in circulated grades really have a story to tell.
Thanks for sharing.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the well worn ones yet.

One thing I like about MS Buffalo nickels is the light, attractive toning they often have. That 1913 T1 is a beauty. I'll be looking forward to seeing your future upgrades!

Quote: Put them back in the folder, hide it in the safe I may do that - but only when its replacement arrives

Thanks! Real nice ones like these are not easy to find - so going forward, I may not be looking for only BU coins, my new requirement will ne "in as best condition as possible and still be affordable" - BUT the date MUST still be raised and easily readable without any chemical enhancements to make it readable.
