So I got myself some original bank rolls for Christmas from a reputable dealer . disappointing to say the least . 65s bank roll , 80s mint roll and 67 bank roll. 67 are great, but the 65 and 80 are 95% as in the photos .

Understand you're disappointed, but are you really surprised?

OBW (original bank rolls) are a shady marketing gimmick along with "unsearched", "unopened", and "from old estate".

This is not OBW, unsearched, or unopened.

To flog a dead horse--buyer beware. Not all OBW rolls are evil--many yes, but not all.

Don't be overly disappointed. The mint workers sifted and handled the coins with their bare hands well into the early 1980s.

For example, when I open a mint-sealed bag, about 15% of the coins have fingerprints and streaks on them. I actually pull those out and deposit them at face value, when sorting through a mint bag.

Rolls directly from the mint did not happen until 1983 to 1984. Before then, coins left the mint in bags, and either banks or security companies like Brinks opened the bags and produced the paper "shotgun" rolls.

OBW is a guarantee of nothing.
Not all mintstate coins are collectable.
What you got should be no surprise.
And there is no such thing as a 1980 mint roll.
The RCM did not roll their own circulation coin until 2004, before that coins were rolled by banks, or rolled by Brinks under contract with the banks or the mint.

yes I understand the perils of roll hunting but as I said the 1967 roll was very good as I posted in the error section so I know it had never been serched
