The quarter, nickel, and cent all have received design changes over the last few years. Personally, I think that President Roosevelt has had a nice run for nearly 65 years and its time to retire him. Does anybody know of any pending design changes for this series? I hope that when they do finally make a change, they keep the new design for many years as opposed to changing it every year like the quarter and nickel. Any thoughts?

Well they have not changed the president on the cent, nickel or the quarters. So in theory they will keep him on and just change the design. Unless Obama decides that making new coins is going against the credit crunch, or the mint sees people are not buying so many, I would expect a change. The States quarter series is over, the other areas and the national parks cannot last that long, the others have had their change. Bet they do something. Or a change to the 50cent. Or perhaps being really bold and making a 2 dollar coin, getting rid of all the dollar notes. I guess with all the hype surrounding Obama, if anyone can get rid of the dollar note it has to be him (sorry for the sarcasm)! Which other presidents deserve to be on the US coins more than roosevelt? (don't answer, it's just a thought provoking thing!)

Personally I don't see a change coming anytime soon with the dime. There just isn't much interest in the series. Plus the dime is the smallest coin in circulation, which I believe would make it harder to design on such a small coin.

I'd like to see them redesign the portrait like that did with Jefferson

Personally I hate the new Jeff portrait. I prefer the traditional profile instead.

I agree about the Jefferson portrait. The new one looks creepy to me.

I would like to see a change in the design of the dime, but I would keep Roosevelt on it.

I agree, a modified Winged Liberty design would be wonderful! But not as a commemorative circulating coin, rather a permanent design change.
Also, I second initiating a $2 coin.

Personally, I find dimes to be really boring coins. The only dimes I have are a complete '46-'64 set, but only because they are silver. The design hasn't changed in forever, the current one isn't all that attractive... I love what they did with the Westward Journey set of nickels, maybe a similar three-year run of dimes would spark my interest in them a bit. =)
