Poll Question
A debate I keep having with myself.....(sound similar to a certain Presidential dollar "roll" Poll ?.... Well....the same reasons are present with these. I've made it a point to get a BU roll (D mint) from my bank of each State Qtr. when they came out. I was able to "go back" with my bank and get quite a few partial rolls too, which I have down at the bank as well, thankfully, because I did not start this Qtr. Program from the beginning in 1999. I think I have at least one roll for every State except about 7 states..... all D mints. Opinions on whether this is a good idea or not to keep them? Value now versus potential value in the future ? How many others are doing this/or did this ? I have a complete BU "D" Mint folder and a "P" and "D" mint folder (but the P's are general circulation..... and I've maintained a four year olds folder and my nephews folder. I have all 50 States in Proof in U.S. Mint Set yearly holders. I have all 50 States in P & D Uncirculated U.S. Mint Set yearly holders. BUT ALL OF THESE EXTRA BU ROLLS FROM THE BANK AND THE "PARTIAL ROLLS".... ARE THESE REALLY WORTHWHILE FOR ME TO KEEP ?Most of the partial rolls I have in coin tubes segregated by the year and/or the number of coins for each state in the tube. Some "partial rolls" were only missing 3 or 4 coins.....some were missing around half of the roll. They're taking up valuable space in my Safety Deposit Box and I could use the money, but I will keep them if enough people say I should do that. And I plan to abide by whatever the majority of the opinions are with this. I just can't decide.....and I have my misgivings. But note, there is no answer for " collect what you like". That doesn't do me any good ! I can't decide, so I want this poll to do it for me. (with the rolls I have now down at the vault in the bank, it would be enough to pay for a " spa treatment" for my girlfriend for her 34th Birthday)...... .....so......I'm on the fence with this !

In my opinion, assembling sets is fun, so "Try to make another P & D mint folder before you get rid of them" and then "You have the Proofs, the Uncirc's. and folders....get rid of everything else."

I did just recently get rid of about $100.00 worth of "P" mint State Qtrs. This was my hoard for putting together (possibly) another P & D mint folder at some point in the future at my leisure. Keeping in mind that all of my P's were in general circulated condition. So, if I did that option......I'd have to start all over looking for the P's again......which isn't something I look forward to doing really......

Hi Eaglefoot, I'm looking for P & D. Can youcover all 50 states in both mints?

I would have been lucky to have all 50 states in "P" for a second time (of course not the '07 & '08 States though). So, obviously I had many duplicates of certain states, but that was my intention so that I could pick the best conditioned ones to go into the folder. And that was also the main battle around here....... no P's. I had accumulated about $100.00 worth of all P's over a few years to make another album, but cashed them in. The D's are easier for me......might be lacking a few...but I could probably put together a "D" mint folder pretty easily. These P's of mine were general circulated conditioned coins.....that's why it wasn't too hard to make " that" decision. My D's however, are what presents the dilemma. I have several rolls each of the states in 1999 and then pretty much one of each throughout the 10 year run. Missing around 7 states somewhere in the middle though. And I have gobs of all of these "partial rolls".....(which are really nice looking BU shiny coins... ..)

Okay......it's official...out of 27 votes, the most went for this decision....today I will go to the S.D.B and pull out all of the D mint "partial rolls" and turn them in. I will keep the "full unopened rolls" for the future.

IMO: I believe that you would have to hold on to these an awaful long time to see any type of appreciation (other than the owners) on the whole State Quarter Program (same for the Presidential series). I too have accumulated several nice examples of select issues, but I put together a set (just like everybody else) for my children, but I am fixin' to throw the rest back into circulation to free up some space. success,

That's exactly what I'll do too. As I've said, I have them all in proof, all in Uncirculated Mint Sets. And then I have a P and D folder nearly complete and a D folder in BU complete. Not really even thinking I need the full unopened rolls either.....but the poll votes didn't go that way !

Well I have two complete sets of State Quarter silver sets, silver min sets. I have all the 1st day covers from the State Quarters. I must have 2500 dollars in bank rolls. When I get back to PA I will slao try and deside weather to keep these or not. Some states I may have 9 rolls of P mints and maybe two or three in D mints. I have multiple extra silver mint sets and regular mint sets I think I will list some here in April for sale. I got both bank rolls and mint sets from ebay and the banks. To get my 1999 silver sets I found the best option was to just purchase the almost complete silver sets and keep the 1999 and now I will probably sell off all the extras and get something else with the cash from these thinking uncirculated 2009 silver eagles right now but who knows. I am not sure if I want to keep all the bank rolls or not I may even have 3000 in bank rolls not sure.

...... I have A LOT of BU rolls..... (not as many as you)....but I still wonder if I should even keep these or not really. A couple hours ago, I got rid of all (most) of the "partial rolls".... $167.00 worth.

Wonder what a completed BU D mint folder would go for ?......would it pay for the cost of the "folder" and face value of the quarters ?.... ...... I'm not sure !

SO......
Keep my BU D mint rolls or not ? These will be worthwhile to save in "unopened BU condition" ?

Someone needs to talk me out of getting rid of my BU "D" Mint Quarter rolls...... ...only missing 7-9 States....and have several rolls each of some of the first year. Talk me out of it.....cause I'm thinkin' 'bout gettin' rid of em' just like I did the Pres. Dollars recently !........ I know.....I know.....23 votes to keem them....... TELL ME WHY THOUGH ! AND HOW RARE THEY ARE ! AND THE FUTURE VALUE !.....GIVE ME REASONS TO KEEP EM' !note*If I did turn them in, I would first complete one or two more D Mint folders though.
