First time post. I have been reading on the forum. Found it via a duckduckgo search. The information on all coin posts I have read is informative and well laid out. I am excited to learn more. I have a 2017 Effigy Mounds Quarter. The area around Washington's nose is discolored. I am going to try to post pictures with this. I can't tell if this is a stain or something else. Thoughts or advice are appreciated. Happy new year.

The joy is in the searching.

Can't tell much from the pics, but looks like either a stain or something is "on" the coin like paint? Not an error.

Yes, well said! And welcome to CCF.

That looks most like a little glue residue, but it could be surface staining due to chemical exposure. Either way, it isn't going to increase the value of this quarter.

My first thought was stain. But, that feels hard to accomplish in this spot. I am sorry first pictures were not as focused as I thought. Might need to search for new glasses. I am not sure if new pictures help. I think these are better pictures of the spot. Might not change hearts and minds. This is also an exercise in proper submissions. I am trying to figure out how to take and upload the best pictures. Thanks for your patience.
