Hi all, I came across this DDO today. Based on the markers it looks like a stage C DDO-003. http://www.varietyvista.com/01e%20L...20C%20PhotosI can't find too much info on value of this one DD, I'm wondering if you all could help me with two questions. Should I submit to PCGS? is it worth it? and Would they attribute? I don't have Cherry Pickers Guide, is it in it? Thanks for the advice! -GB

Not worth sending in. Do you remember the criteria for sending in a coin? John1

I agree with John1 on slabbing but very nice find on a cool DDO.

Very nice DDO but this is a great one for an acetone dip, distilled water rinse, and placing it in an Aitite or 2x2 flip.

You're going to spend way more than the coin is worth to have a TPG evaluate it.

It was more a question of value, I've seen the other 2014 DDO go for way over 150. This one seems just as nice, so was curious since it doesn't have a lot of comps. I appreciate you all, and yes still super happy to find it! -GB

Your best bet on this non Fivaz Stanton listed double die would be ANACS they do and will attribute this die. 25 bucks return shipping, 16 for grading and 16 for attributing total $57 approx. Although a very nice modern doubled die these sell frequently for under 20 bucks raw - I certainly can see one bringing 150 maybe more but it would have to go ultra grade at MS 66+ or higher. Not knocking your find its the 2nd best 2014 DDO variety but there's lots of these out there I've found 5 of the 003's roll searching which tells me its Rarity factor is low probably a 2.7 or lower. If you have a personel attachment to the coin and you think its worth the fees by all means have it certified. PCGS and NGC only list FS numberd die varieties. Nice find, I still have all mine its a great modern variety and shows some good doubling.

nice DDO you found - if you were to sent it in - ANACS would be the go to on this coin to keep costs down. But I, myself most likely would not sent it in at all.

Cammy is 99% correct across the board there. Nicely put. The only iffy bit was that NGC actually will slab some non-FS coins under their VP system. You just have to look all that up on their website first, which is crazy since few know what a VP-002 is vs a DDO-002 or similar.
On a side note, since the OP did mention DDO-001, an MS-67 example of 2014 DDO-001, FS-101 sold on Great Collections last Sunday for over $8000. That is nuts, but shows just how rare that die is in anything like top condition, and one of the truly valuable coins you could get in change tomorrow.
