Here's pics 2023 silver Maple Leaf. As tribute to Queen her years of reign are shown. This will also be on the gold Maple Leaf. Some dealers have these for preorder. I believe in 2021 the Royal Canadian Mint added the year inside the tiny leaf as a security feature. It's disappointing the US Mint only has the lame missing reed as a security feature.

I haven't seen any news when the Royal Canadian Mint will switch effigy to the King.

I heard they are adding four dots for Premium Bullion:

Not sure if a regular bullion coin would get the same treatment.

My guess is that we won't see KCIII on the coinage until his coronation in May. While extremely unlikely, there is a risk he won't get crowned... he is in his 70's after all. There are a very few KEVIII coins available out of the UK and these are extremely rare as the main series of coins in the UK, Canada and the rest of the commonwealth who place the monarch on their coins went from KGV to KGVI.

I do expect the May NCLT release to be overflowing with KCIII content though.

The same has come to the silver bullion and premium bullion $5 coin for this point in 2023. I received an early notice this morning and ordered one of the premium bullion silver maple leafs.

vonigohcr, You may be right about the May coronation. I emailed the Britain Royal Mint last week, asking about this. Their customer service department did not know when the 2023 Britannia would have KCIII effigy. I plan on buying some.

There are a couple of designs of memorial coins to the Queen that also have an effigy of King Charles on the reverse. Haven't picked one up yet, but they look pretty cool. I think we have to wait until after his Coronation or until 2023 to see coins with his effigy alone on them. RIP QE II.

KCIII bullion is now out. The Royal Mint has them in stock https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bu...charles-iii/

They are also available from The Coin Shoppe. I have 3 on order.

I received my Charlie-III Britannias today. The portrait looks better on the coin than the pictures posted. Can't wait to see what the RCM will do for a portrait.
