Hey So I have a few different kinds of coins that look like this. some are in great condition, some are like this. Is this a missing layer? it's definitely not paint or anything like that.

@on, thx for asking this question. Overwhelmingly, these are colored due to environmental exposure, such as from having been buried in the ground. Missing clad layer coins almost always are underweight, so you could take that measurement to confirm if you want.
