C-2, B-2 | Close Date | Breen dies: 2-A. | Obverse with close date numerals. The 1811 Half Cent is the second rarest date of the Classic Head type. As a business strike, it is exceeded only by the 1831 (some might argue that the 1831 is a Proof-only issue, which would then elevate the 1811 to the top position). Both obverse and reverse dies appear to show die rust as is typical for this issue.

Agreed C-2. I think VG-8, close to 10.
Looks like a small hit next to the first 1 in the date. Shouldn't affect the grade.
Weak reverse - often seen.

That is quite a nice example of the 1811 C-2, Close Date,
R-2. I would grade it VG10.

While it is correct that 1811 is a scarce year, low grade examples of C-2 are actually seen relatively often. This variety, in my opinion, only becomes scarce and very scarce at grades above F15.

I'm in the VG10 box and a very nice example. finding one without a decent planchet is not easy
