ok on this 2017 frederick Douglass quarter on the reverse is his finger his left hand the pinky finger is it doubled and what about his ear on the obverse is it double or is it Die Deterioration or an MD

It looks like the die was polished to bring some definition to the fingers. (I can't seem to think of the proper term at the moment)

Looks like Machine Doubling. Note on the outer edge devices are also showing the die movement post strike.
