I'm in the AU58 camp with some slight rub in the hair.

Seeing VAM12. Nice find!

Ok, time for the big reveal:
It is indeed a vam-12A (top 100) because of the clashing. I spotted the alligator eye and since I was on vamworld, that was an easy confirm. Apparently this variety is popular and can be found in high grades such as mine.
ICG gave it a MS-65!
You-Vs.-ICG,-1887-P-Morgan-Dollar
Note, as to the grading, the reverse pulls up on the overall level of marks, and I can see why they gave it a 65. I kinda might want to send it into PCGS and see what they think.
Personal grade of mine is MS-64+

For the longest time I too thought what looked to be light wear on Morgan dollars obverse was actually how the coin is supposed to look like...

The obverse pulls this coin down.
With the favorable grading, I would be keen to sell it.

no way the coin is MS65. if it is UNC the best this coin could ever see is MS63 . I still think its a slider but glare is problem here.

Definitely not MS-65. Based on the last full slab photo, I am in agreement with panzaldi, I lean towards slider now.

Looks like an AU-58 slider.
