Looks like a zinc-rotted '98.

Year doesn't really matter on this totally destroyed Lincoln Memorial cent which looks to be intentionally useless. It is so damaged it's no longer currency and has no numismatic value any longer. Post pitch it and forget it. Without question post mint damage.

Agree--looks to be a 1998, and in rather bad condition.

What I found strange is the copper looks like it was spat onto the Penny. Over the date, the drops are definitely raised.

this 1998 ZINC cent is infected. Zinc rot is what we call it. Bubbles of zinc dust under the copper plating burst open and the zinc started corroding away.
