Found this recently not to sure about the doubling I was more so wondering about the mint mark and so happened to see the possible doubling hoping someone can clear it up for me

With those pics,looks like circulation flattening and the mint mark as well.

Yes there might have been a broken post on the mintmark, in which case the letter D was filled in from when it was struck. With this amount of circulation wear, it is hard to know for sure.

yeah, heavy circulation flattening - which causes the devices to appear wider. (Same for the D as well)
