I found this 1988 Quarter with this impression on both sides. It does not look like PMD. The area is all textured the same inside the depression. It is on both sides, but most prominent on the obverse side. There is little damage to quarters design on the revers across the left wing and leaves. Anyone have any thoughts?

If the design on the opposite side of the coin area, then it is damage to the coin, post strike. (Damage) No premium for a damaged coin.

Do you mean, if it's pushed in on one side and out on the other side? This one is pushed in on both sides, not as prominent on the reverse.

This it is just a Damage coin. Sometimes some organization's or clubs print theirs own sign on coin. No value for this coin in any way. This one it is a good Etsy LOL candidate coin.

I would have to agree with PMD at this point. It is possible that it was crushed in a vise with something on either side to create this impression.

Post-strike alteration. More specifically, someone impressed the crude silhouette of an erect penis and scrotum in front of Washington's face. This is the second "dick face" quarter I've come across. The first example was more anatomically convincing.

After further review under my scope, I'm not convinced that it is post mint damage. I think it's a strike through debris on the die or planchet. You really have to look at the detail inside the penis, along the edge. I feel like, if this was done intentionally, it would be more anatomically correct. I will have it looked at locally and get back...

That was my very first thought as well Mike. But I dare not wanted to mention it though.
