It is still pink; anyone want to suggest why?

Not sure, our Note expert on this Forum hasn't posted for several years so time for someone else to step up.

I think the "red T shirt" option can be excluded, simply because the other clear sections of the note, in the two corners, seem to be unaffected. A "weird chemical environment" like solvents or enzymes can likewise be eliminated as an option. Nevertheless, my assumption would be damage, rather than a mint error. Maybe somebody having fun with a red fluoro highlighter pen?

its usually ink from a red ink stamp pad as I can see that the note seem to have circulated or some kid with a red pen as colour isn't strictly just the see through plastic, and not from washing a shirt. No expert that just my experience when deal with oddly coloured notes unless there colouring special in some sort of way I tend to think its PMD.

Took it to my local dealer and we looked at it under high magnification (30x) and the pinkness seems to be printed as it follows the 'print-line' of where the natural color should go. Still not sure if I should just spend it.

I would hang on to it myself. Maybe have a yack with the Mint about it. You can always spend it later.

Give the pink area a bit of a rub with a damp tissue. Also there are no main or background colours in pink that could have transferred...RedFlag- buyer be ware...

Most likely a printing error as I just came across one also. The other side of these $50 notes have a pinkish colour to them in part of the image so I think it is from that.

I would not rely on the checks too much. They miss a lot of errors and that spelling mistake was a big one and it passed all the checks.
