According to a reliable source, the owner of this coin once owned/co-owned an entire roll of 1919-P Lincoln cents, from which came multiple MS-68s, MS-67s, and this one MS-69.

If there is one Gem or variety in a roll the will usually be more, up to about 10 with four or five being typical.

By this means someone with a large group of rolls from the same source can sample them by looking at end coins.

I've seen quite a few stunning Gems from the 30's and '40's so it's quite possible there will be one graded higher someday. There are still a lot of rolls around and they do get checked for Gems now days.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

As a Lincoln collector I often have left a show or dealer ultimately thinking: "I walked in with $500 and walked out with 18 cents."

I only hit near that level once. Three times if you count online purchases.
