Have several that have worn the date off. I heard that there is method of applying acid to the date and it would make it readable. does anyone know how this done? what acid and concentration to use?

Nic-a-date leaves an unmistakable mark on the nickel.
But since the date was missing it can only be an improvement.

Most collectors that use Nic-a-date only use it on coins with a mint mark.
That can sometimes improve the coin's value just a bit.

Thanks Ballyhoo!

That sounds better than using Vinegar to me...for no particular reason. If I'm not happy with the results, I'll then use Vinegar.

I too have Buff's where the dates are worn. This is now on my "to-do" list. Thanks again!
