Hello! Thank you for helping me out here. I was wondering if this was an error: there are definite lines on one side of the coin but not really on the other.

@swee, first welcome to CCF. Second, I think that you are asking why the denticles are still partially visible on one side but not the other. As the rims wear, this feature become flatter and flatter. On your cent, I suspect that the reason for this pattern of wear being a bit uneven is not a mint error. Hypothetically, this might have been a tapered planchet, but that seems much less likely to me.

@spence thank you. The letters next to it are still very prominent. Is it possible for just the inner edge to wear down? I wish the penny color showed up better. It's actually a very shiny copper color!

The dies may have been slightly tilted causing an uneven strike, or it may be from wear. No way to say for sure with a coin with this much wear, and would be an extremely minor issue even if it was struck this way. Unfortunately, the shiny copper color is a bad thing. On a coin of this age and condition it indicates that it has been cleaned, if natural, it would be more of a chocolate brown.
