Of course this one isn't labeled properly on the holder but there is a really cool coin inside! I've seen bats post one of these but can't remember any others. This one even has a faint impression of the reverse on the obverse! Thanks for looking!

From what I gather this happens when an already struck coin gets into a chamber with a die cap. That strike leaves an impression in the die cap and the other coin is ejected. Each following planchet in that chamber will have a slightly bigger design until the impression is gone.

Seems Lincoln sublte impression is centered but the "Liberty" is off way left. Interesting looking coin. Love to hear experts weigh in.

All the devices are enlarged - Lincoln's bust is huge and goes off the edge at the top. Liberty goes off the edge on the left, and the date goes off the edge on the right.
This sure is very interesting.

Fascinating coin.

I tracked with your explanation - no Bats needed for me to concur this is a lovely error coin.

Been at the annual bat meetings up in Vermont and just got home a short while ago.

Yeah, these counterbrockages with the greatly expanded Lincoln visible are really nice to see. I've never really known what they are worth but there has been one graded for sale on ebay at $349 for many months so less than that.
