I helped out at our local coin club show on Jan 14-15 this year but took some time to cruise the isles. On Sunday one dealer had a pile of four 1953 proof cents. They were all graded Pf66 red by NGC. The lighting isn't the best at these shows but all of them had the die gouge on the lapel by the buttonhole, so I knew they were the FS101 variety. I got to pick the best of the four!
This isn't particularly rare or hard to find but I liked the fact it was already graded. Enjoy and thanks for looking.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
Nice pick up! And yes, a very common die. I have never tried to crossover to PCGS what I've got for this one but I do have two MS67RD CAMEO examples in NGC holders.
