Let me try and give this a shot. I'll leave color out as I have not studied details on how to judge that.

I will venture to say that the soft strike on the obverse is typical for the die of that year.

All marks are minimal hairline type and not in focal areas but there are enough on the reverse to hold this to MS66. The mark by one I believe do not show up as much in hand. The marks on cent and the column are the main areas of reduction.

Great coin by the way! I can only imagine it looks great in had and BT has provided excellent photos of the details without capturing the toning.

MS65RD for me. I submitted quite a few 59D's to ANACS because my grandparents left me a roll. Seems to be a tough year to get to the 66.

Most of the MS66's I looked at were better but this one still graded. I think the BT's has a chance. Is that mark above the ONE a die crack?

Nice coin. I agree with the others as mid MS.

Were they full red or RB? 66 isn't so tough in RB.

I think this would be a 66 by comparison but the TPG punishment would be the RB designation. Not sending it in anyway, one of many best kept in the raw.

No it's a very fine scratch that got amplified by my light. You can see it in hand but it's very light and faint. It doesn't even show in my angled picture.
