Do you think the Treasure Hunt example is the same coin? The struck through area looks a little different to me. Might have been due to something stuck to the die. Interesting.

I know, right? That is the question. Would be wild if I got that same coin so I feel like the odds are multiple coins suffered the same fate. Adds to the intrigue as far as I'm concerned!

Here is an overlay to see where the push out would be if it is damage or not? The area would be near the smallest branch on the reverse. You might repost the image of the reverse to this second page so it would be here by my overlays?

The shape on the obverse neck section looks spot on from my novice perspective. Thanks for sharing!

Spotted two additional impressions on the same quarter.

The two impressions on the head are PSD. The struckthrough on the neck could be on two separate coins. Since the overall shape is similar I suspect it is a fairly large glob of mint grease and both of those coins were struck in fairly quick succession. Congrats on a fun find. EDIT: This is embarrassing. I see I replied to the other thread. I was still green at that point (2019) and didn't know about " Struck Through Grease" on coins. I still believe this is Struck Through Grease.

to the CCF If it was something on the die, chances are that there were more than one coin struck with the same debris. I have a run of 4 cents that were struck with the same debris. 1 with a little less than the previous. I know that they were struck very close to the same time because they came out of a unc. roll.

Thats awesome having multiple in a row. Would be neat to find it's twins! Yeah, I set $50k as the opening bid, not the "buy it now" because I know what I have. I'm not an idiot &

Yeah, you're right. Maybe I can find some Ferrari owner who would be willing to trade (plus kick in a few greenbacks on top of the pony car because again, I know what I have). @silviosi
