I found this in 1989 D mint mark Washington quarter that appears to be improperly annailed slight rainbow shading on the obverse and strong shading on the reverse appreciated that I'm still kind of guessing thanks

At first glance--given the images posted--it appears to be a matter of toning through exposure to environmental 'elements' vs an annealing issue. looks interesting. Would like to see an end-on photo of the rim. Thanks.

Others will be along to weigh-in.

After seeing the dime the other day that was improperly annealed, I would say that this quarter does not appear to be annealed improperly. This it just an environmentally toned out coin.
