This Chinese coin was found in a huge world coin collection. It has an 18.58mm diameter and it weighs 2.64 grams. Are there telltale signs on fakes or is getting it graded my only hope? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Personally I haven't seen a real one in hand before but I don't see any telltale signs of fakery, I'd say there's a good chance it's real.

Hello,both of you!
Can you please provide the exact name of the China(?) province (?) which released this coin in 1926(?)...because I don't find it in the KM''World Coins''catalogue.
Also,is it silver? Have you done a magnet test?
Thanks!
Andi

It's listed in Krause under China, REPUBLIC OF / Republic - Standard Coinage. Denomination "10 Cents (1 Chiao)", Y# 334.

Thanks to all for your comments. It is nonferrous but it does look like a lower grade silver or it has tarnished with a slight bronze tone. I've added some pictures with it laying next to a Newfoundland .925 silver 10 cent coin. What is the silver content supposed to be for the Dragon & Phoenix coin? Thanks.

It looks genuine. I have a couple of them and weight is within spec.

It used to be quite common until prices have gone through the roof for these.

Today this is easily a few hundred dollars.

Can you please take a photo of the edge just to triple check?

Looks good to me too. Definitely not an obvious fake. I'd feel comfortable buying it.
