Ok I have seen some really beat up Lincoln Cents in my time, but this 1988 P reverse really takes the coin to a new low. I'm going to guess PMD by someone who tried a vise job on this poor cent. I took 4 close ups (two per side) so what do you say? The stuff on the reverse if you run your fingers on the surface you can feel the coin raised at the contacts on the Memorial building. Let me know your thoughts and regards!

Post-strike damage. Keep looking through those cents, there are many which have far, far 'worse' reverses.

Some sort of gunk or other post mint damage. Spend it and keep searching!
