Six notes on uncut sheet. November 1, 1839. I found this at an estate sale on the last day. Reduced from 195 (not a bad price) down to around 50. I bought it framed and haven't removed it. I looks too nice as is. I have no plans on cutting them but it seems to bring more money if it was split into single notes. It appears they aren't all that common. They were printed for George Hupp who intended on opening a counting house. Apparently, no counting house was ever started. Opinions? Thank you.

mds, these uncut sheets sell at auction for between $150 - $300, so you did quite well. The framing alone would probably run at least $50.

When's the last time you had something framed? About 20 years ago, I had a print matted using my own frame and it was 125 dollars. Frames are not cheap. I believe the place I went to charged by the inch. If I did that, I'd go broke.

If you look closely, you'll notice that most of these notes depict coins. The Spanish milled dollar is on the 12.5¢ note, another Spanish coin is on the 6.5¢, the back of a Seated Liberty quarter is on the 25¢, and the half dollar is on 50¢. Would you mind posting close-ups of those last two?

Yes, I mind, but I'll do it anyway.

I'm happy to oblige.

mds308, that must be a 1/2 reale on the 6 1/4 ¢ note.

Very interesting.

I wonder how the sheet of notes is attached to the framing matt - and if the method of doing so renders the reverse side of the notes damaged in some way?

Bought one unframed a couple years ago for around $100. You stole that one!
