You can see how each device is narrower where the Machine Doubling occurs. Another big difference is that the mint mark is affected by MD too. If it were a doubled die you would not see that. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/12/2023 1:20 pm On the 1968-1972 cents Machine Doubling was common to find on these coins. Even doubled dies showed Machine Doubling. It is a striking issue, not a doubled die issue. Doubled dies are caused by a doubled die, not Machine Doubling. Report this Post to the Staff
