In the movie the kids are creating an error on a Michigan State Quarter.

When they're sent to ANACS they come back as graded token nickels.
Just curious.

On a side note, next month Planet Hollywood in Orlando will have some of my Daniel Carr movie prop quarters in the Coin Heist display.

Hey John, they're made from copper, nickel and zinc. The edge is smooth.I have a lose one at home, I'll post a picture when I get off work.

Be sure to include a photo of the obverse.

Nfine, the top photo with the grade would be considered the obverse, the bottom photo with Dan's signature would be the reverse.
Thanks for looking!

Looking at descriptions of the Moonlight Mint site, Dan uses the term "Nickel Copper" to describe the metal composition used for his parody quarters. It could be "Nickel Copper" wouldn't fit on the slab?

That's a design concept quarter. It was used in the movie "Coin Heist" and is not for circulation. It's a quarter. There's more info on the Moonlight website. I just extrapolated this bit of info.

Michigan State Quarter concept, 2016.

Obverse (Type 1 and Type 2): Washington State Quarter design based on original by John Flanagan.

Reverse: Michigan fishing scene (two varieties).

Type-1: George Washington obverse, reverse with 1 fin on back of fish. Engraved and struck by Daniel Carr.

Type-2: George Washington obverse, reverse with 2 fins on back of fish. Engraved and struck by Daniel Carr.

Type-3: Obverse with 1 fin on back of fish. Reverse with 2 fins on back of fish. Not engraved or struck by Daniel Carr.

When I said it was smooth I was trying to see the edge on the one in the holder.. It's obviously reeded.

Thank you Dsking, I think my question is more about the ANACS holder. Why do they call it a nickel and not a quarter?

Well, it says "25C" on the second line, and "nickel" isn't a denomination they normally put on slabs, it's a nickname. My guess would be that's the composition, rather than the denomination.
