1978 D Dime Double Struck?

This came from a large collection I recently bought. It was with the rest of the error coins but wasn't in a 2x2 with a description. It looks like it was double struck. It also looks like it might have post mint damage. All opinions are welcome.

Looks like it was struck through a blank planchet, called a brockage I think.

The tapered edge @LIBERTY looks out of round but has reeds so that happened after the strike ( PSD) and out of the collar.

As to the partial indent,I'm leaning towards this being PSD as well.

The image at the link shows the opposite side from the indent to be clearly struck with full details. On your coin, the opposite side devices are missing. which tells me it happened outside the striking chamber.

I also think a true indent would be on the obverse side during this time period, since the obverse die was the hammer die.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.

This dime was crushed between two flat surfaces while lying above what may have been an unstruck planchet. A sorry attempt at creating a facsimile error.
